About the Haryana Cheerag Scheme
The Haryana Cheerag Scheme was launched to provide equal education opportunities to children from financially weak families.
Through this scheme, the government allows students to take admission in selected private schools without paying any tuition fees.
The Directorate of Elementary Education Haryana is responsible for managing and implementing the scheme.
The government transfers the required school fees directly to the private institutions.
Students are not required to pay any fee to the school under this scheme.
Eligible students can apply for admission in private schools located in the same block where they studied previously.
Applicants can submit forms for more than one school if they wish.
Previously, the scheme covered Class 3 to Class 12, but updates were made later:
Class 3 removed from the scheme in 2024
Class 4 removed from the scheme in 2025
Currently the scheme applies only from Class 5 to Class 12

Eligibility Criteria
Students must meet the following conditions to receive benefits under the Haryana Cheerag Scheme:
The student must be a permanent resident of Haryana
Family annual income must be less than ₹1,80,000 from all sources
Parents should not be government employees
The family must belong to the economically weaker section
The family must have a Parivar Pehchan Patra (Family ID)
The student must be seeking admission between Class 5 and Class 12
The student must have completed the previous class from a government school
Application Process
Eligible families must fill out the Cheerag Scheme application form.
The application form is available at private schools participating in the scheme.
Applicants must carefully fill in all the required details in the form.
All required documents must be attached with the application form.
The completed form must be submitted to the private school where admission is desired.
Applications should be submitted only in schools located in the same block where the student previously studied.
After submission, the school provides a receipt confirming acceptance of the application.
The school verifies all submitted documents and details.
Eligible students are then admitted and their details are updated on the MIS portal.
Parents receive confirmation of admission through the registered mobile number.
