About the Scheme
- During the period from 4 June 2024 to 29 July 2024, Haryana received only 87 mm rainfall, which was around 40% below normal.
- Due to low rainfall and extreme heat, farmers had to depend heavily on tube wells and alternative irrigation sources.
- This led to a significant increase in farming costs, creating financial pressure on farmers.
- To support farmers, the Haryana Government announced this scheme on 8 August 2024.
- Under this initiative, financial support is given as a bonus for Kharif and horticulture crops.
- Farmers growing fruits, vegetables, flowers, and other crops are also eligible.
- Over 5 lakh farmers have already received the benefit.
- On 15 August 2024, the bonus amount was transferred to farmers’ bank accounts.
